KS4: 2019 GCSE Exam Results Summary

It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces at Ripley St Thomas collecting their GCSE results, after two years' hard work.  Results were very pleasing at Ripley with 89% of pupils achieving a standard pass in Mathematics, 87% in English and 84% in Science. The new GCSEs are more demanding and pupils have clearly worked extremely hard. We look forward to welcoming many back into the sixth form and wish all of our pupils well as they move to the next stage in their lives.  Particular congratulations go to Lucy Rurlander and Bethany Davey who each achieved eight Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s. Only 114 pupils in the country achieved these grades last year.

We are delighted with our GCSE attainment and progress again this year.  Pupils at Ripley continue to make above average progress from their starting points due to a combination of hard work, good attitudes, excellent teaching and parental support. We are proud to be one of the highest performing secondary schools in Lancashire.

KS5 2020

Many congratulations to our Year 13 students who received their results on 13th August. We are very proud of how our young people have coped with such a disrupted year. Results are more or less in line with last year and the vast majority of students have been accepted by their university of choice. We congratulate them all! Four students achieved their target grades for Oxford and Cambridge and three students will be taking up places at university for medicine and one for veterinary science. Special mention goes to Martin Walls on achieving a remarkable four A* grades. Martin will be studying Computer Science at Cambridge next year. Over the next few days we will be working to ensure that every student progresses to the next step in their career.
