FIrefly problems - letter from Mrs Walmsley

Firefly Problems

Dear Parent/Carer,

The best laid plans...

We have been informed that Firefly are experiencing issues again this morning, in spite of them working overnight to fix them. The system is clearly struggling to cope with the increased volume across the country.

I know some children will be getting anxious about this - please reassure them that we are aware and they won't get in trouble if they fall behind with their tasks because of it.

In the meantime, they could be using learning websites such as BBC Bitesize and Seneca Learning as these have resources for all different subjects.

It's also a good chance to get creative - maybe they could write a diary or poem about how it feels to be in 'lockdown'.

We'd love to read some of them, so please do share via our social media

- twitter @ripleystthomas

- facebook @ripleystthomas

and Instagram @ripleystt. It was great to see so many creative makes yesterday!

I also recommend that they develop some new culinary / barista skills to make sure their home teachers are being well looked after.

We have been assured that Firefly are working to fix the problem. If this looks set to continue beyond early teething problems, we will explore a Plan B.

I will keep in touch regarding any developments.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs C Walmsley
