Chinese Language and Culture Enrichment

Our sixth formers enjoyed a fantastic enrichment course in Chinese Language and Culture, delivered by teachers from the Confucius Institute at Lancaster University.

Throughout the six week programme, students practised some basic Mandarin vocabulary and pronunciation, and had the opportunity to learn about and participate in traditional Chinese culture and crafts, including calligraphy, paper cutting, using chopsticks and making Chinese friendship bracelets.

Year 12 student Suzannah Dearden said of the enrichment: "It was such a good experience. The sessions were really hands-on and interactive, and I loved the way we got to practise our language skills and get creative each week. It gave us a really fun break from our studies."

The six week course forms part of the unique and diverse enrichment programme at Ripley, which gives all sixth formers the opportunity to develop valuable skills, build relationships, and expand their knowledge and experience in areas outside of their A Level subjects.
